Wow, that's a great idea. What did you use for your covering?

A great idea.

Vey nice ironing board.

I use a TV tray as well when I'm doing paper piecing. I put a folded towel for pressing and a small mat for trimming on top of the table. So handy and all folded up when not in use.

Very clever idea!

In the interval before making another cover, perhaps you would like using a flat piece of material. I bound the edges with bia tape for each of two protective covers used for my homemade big board and smaller pressing surface. A heavy twill cotton is the same fabric I used for the original surface. My original cover remains neat and clean. The protective covers are easily laundered so any bleed through of fabric dye is easily removed.

Great idea!!!

In addition to everyone else’s comments. This is a great ironing surface to take to a class. Small enough to fit near your seating and with your own travel iron, no waiting in line for the provided iron. :-)
