Finally Noticed!

2 Attachment(s)
I gave my brother a quilt a year ago for their new home. He was an Air Force lifer and plays golf all the time. So I had quilted it with these logos. He uses the quilt all the time on the sofa. He emailed me yesterday saying that he laid out the quilt back side up and just noticed the quilting! He was duly impressed ... Finally! LOL

Nancy, what appropriate quilting. He will probably use it back side up. LOL

Great quilting And it only took a year?

Perfect quilting for a golfer. Must be a man thing not to notice for such a long time. :-)

Men!! At least he used it and appreciated it. Now, he'll appreciate it more.

Glad the light bulb came on.

So nice of him to finally notice that great quilting.

LOL! too funny! I made a string quilt for g-boys to use when they visit and decided to put it on backing up cause I'd worked hard to put different "boy" motifs in each block--my son was the most impressed!

I’m sure he has enjoyed the quilt during that time and he probably would have noticed the quilt design if he or his wife was a quilter...but it’s nice to know he is appreciative of it now. Great job Nan.

How much family fun. I am always amazed at what people (especially me) see and do not see. We have a son who is an artist. He sees things very differently than anyone else. I wish I had the ability to see things and be able to portray it on paper or fabric. I think your brother just saw his gift in a different way that you saw it when you quilted it. Just enjoy his discovery.

Kind of sounds like me when I am watching a movie for the eleventh time. I say "wow, I never noticed that before."

Glad he noticed and likes it.

Rose_P 01-04-2019 10:22 PM

You shouldn't look upon it as taking a year because probably there were many months of warm weather when the quilt wasn't used. I'm glad he finally noticed it, though.

Guys! Subleties are often lost on many of them. At least it only took a year for him to notice! Nice quilting, Nan.

Very neat quilting. My husband is former USAF. Thanks to your brother for his service.

I had to laugh about him 'finally noticing'....still not as bad as what just happened here, new years eve day. I had put a load of bedclothes to wash. When I heard it try to spin off balance, I went and repositioned the sheets for it to finish the first spin. I knew it had to rinse and spin again before the end of cycle. I came back to my sewing room to wait. About 20 minutes later I stepped out into the hall and started screaming. My husband was sitting reclined in his chair watching TV but all around him in the living area, coming down the hall, in the kitchen and utility was Water. The machine when it started to fill to rinse hadn't shut off and kept overflowing. My sister said when was my husband going to 'notice', when his recliner started floating??!!!
