... and look what I got. The pink squares are from the square swap, the 2 fat quarters and the bobbin holder I won, the can cozy was a free gift and the rest I bought. There were a couple other free things but I didn't get to them yet. Can't wait to dive into it all.

I have been looking for a quilt retreat where I could learn....can't find anything....does anyone have any ideas where to look??? Would love to go towards Tennessee, South Carolina............
|
Ooooo Lookie at all the goodies! How very fun! What is the one package with the spring green and red fabric in it? I love my bobbin saver like that. And I know you will enjoy those thangles. So, what did you make at the retreat? Come on girl tell us all.... LOL!

The package with the spring green and red fabric came with the Curl Up Quilts book. The vendor sold it all together (fabric and book) as a kit. I got a small redwork wall hanging pieced at the retreat. Other than that, I got a lot accomplished but not much finished if that makes sense. I got a lot of pieces put together for my mom's quilt and I got a lot of the class quilt put together.
Now that I know how a retreat works, I'll remember to do a few things so I can sew longer. 1) Bring a comfy cushion for my back, 2) Bring an insulated lunchbox so I can bring a lunch with me to the quilt barn so I don't have to go back to my room or to the grill for lunch (breakfast and dinner were provided but not lunch). Then I can snack and sew without having to take long breaks. 3) Bring my contact lens stuff to the quilt barn so I can take out my lenses when my eyes start getting tired or I can put saline drops in my eyes. |
Glad you had a good time. I love retreats. Our guild has one every year in February, and I have enjoyed the times I was able to go. Now that I have dogs, it is difficult. I have to come home every night to take cere of them, and I fret about messes becasue the days are loooong. Cats can stay home for a couple days with no problems. :?
And I seldom actually finish a project at the retreat! |
