We don't have basements in Texas, or at least it is very rare to have a basement. I didn't know you could have windows in a basement. I thought it was under your house? Enlighten me, please.

We don't have basements in California either.....rare if any. I missed the basement part of Nancy's post......I'm with you Kathy, thought basements were underground or at least low to the ground with small windows.

Boo Hoo! We don't have basements in Louisiana either. What is popular here is a "bonus room" above the garage.

I'm from TX too so the whole basement thing was strange for me too. There are different types of basements...some are totally under the house so from the outside it looks like a normal house, others like mine, are called "walk out" basements and from the outside on the back half of the house, it looks like a 3 story house. Bascially it is like building the house into a hill. Hope that helps!! :D
