Evening --
Can anyone please tell me the name the pattern in this place mat and quilt. Also if possible where I could find the pattern.
Thank you in advance -

Well, each section is a 9-patch, for what that's worth.

No idea what the pattern is, maybe google 9-patch variations.

There is another similar pattern, it is make with 12 fabrics that were stacked. Then the 9 patch is cut, the fabrics are rotated in each cut section, and sewn back together with the black sashing added.

I don't remember the name of the pattern, but there is also another one where the fabric stacks are cut into a star shape block. :D:D:D

It looks like a crazy quilt pattern...would it even have a name...?

It was in a magazine and I'll try and dig it out. I made one with the Califon fabric a couple years ago. It is an easy pattern. Amma has it right. You stack your fabrics-I used FQ's, cut them into squares and the cut off piece (rectangle) is used for the border, then do 2 cuts each way. You do not cut even from an edge like when you are cutting strips. Leave the first stack in order as it was cut, take next stack rotate 1 fabric from top to bottom, next stack rotate 2 top fabrics to bottom, continue each stack adding additional fabric each stack. Then the piles will have a different fabric in each layer. The black strips are 1/5 inch strips and you sew them in between the blocks that you have cut above. Make sure that you stay consistent and not change your fabrics after you get them rotated. It is best to not use repeat FQ's as they will end up next to each other on one or two of the blocks. Use all different size patterns, values and hues to make the most striking quilt.
