Hi Guys,
Well this quilt has taken some time because I absolutely hate the colours... I was originally making this in blues and had bought all the fabrics because I thought they were my stepsons favourite colours, but luckily I asked him what his favourites were before making it and he said "yellow and grey". So here it is. I will one day make it in blue because it looks so good and of course I already have the fabrics - LOL LOL LOL. I, too, share your aversion to yellows, but your quilt look fantastic! If your stepson is anything like sons
are, I'm sure he will appreciate your going above and beyond! |
it looks great.
Great looking quilt! I do like the colors.
That is a lovely quilt!
I love yellow and grey together, so I am loving this quilt.
That is a gorgeous quilt! I love the colors. Very modern.
I love it! I don't often like grey but I absolutely love yellow and this quilt is really beautiful!
Beautiful quilt that I bet he adores! What pattern is that, I do not think I have seen it before? Please post the blue one when it is done!
I certainly hope he loves it because I do. I have grays and other colors to use up because they look so great. modern quilt styles mostly. love them but still lean toward my old favorites. lovely quilting!!!
Good job!!
I'm sure that he will love it. it is very nice.
That's gorgeous--I love the colors!
Caroline, you and me both, however, that's a great quilt! And he will love it, which is the most important thing :)
Very pretty. It is my opinion there is a place for any and all colors in quilts. Not necessarily in the same quilt.
But you did a good job anyway. . . how old is this guy? :)
Yellow and Grey are sort of 1940s (?) combos. Like pink and grey. They're making a comeback in Atlanta where the house is grey and the door is intense yellow or absolutely pink. |
Love the color combo....super beautiful!
Super. BrendaK

I love the color combination. Your pattern choice makes it look like glowing sunshine. A real winner.
Lovely quilt. You did a great job with the quilting was it on a domestic?
Wow, that’s a big quilt...you did a wonderful job on your straight line quilting. The directional changes make it so interesting. Great finish.
the quilt you made is stunning and unique! You did a great job.
Very nice quilt and luckily you asked him what his favorite colors were and he told you. He will appreciate his new quilt I am sure.
Beautiful coordination of color tone and the quilting is perfect for the pattern. It's going to look great on a bed, and the fact that it's reversible is even better. Great job!!
I'm not a big fan of yellow either but gray is one of my favorite colors and it seems to go with a lot of bright colors. But your colors work well together. His favorite colors? He'll love it!
Your stepson will love that quilt, it is beautiful!
Fantastic quilt.
I like the colors. Beautiful quilt.
That is really beautiful and masculine too. :)
Thank guys..... I hope he does like it. He is coming to stay on the 3rd March so I will know then.
Hugs Caroline |

I LOVE it! The pattern is called Sunburst and is in Quiltcom 2016 magazine. Hugs Caroline |
Well done! Very modern looking quilt for your DGS. :)
This is the kind of design my son would like. I'm sure your stepson will love it. It may not be your choice in colors, but it is very effective, and he will be touched that you went to all the trouble to make it to his liking. Terrific work!
