Yes, it's bright and cheery but I like what the soft yellow does to it....very calming.

It surely could be done with charms, just be a tiny bit larger. My block pieces were cut at 4.5"x 8.5" for the rectangles and the centers are 4.5" squares. You could simply add that half inch for charms.
