It is wonderful and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the appliqué component of it ... Because to me, it looks like a lot of work. LOL. Very pretty pattern and you did a great job.

Stunning quilt. I really like the contrast of blue and white. It is so crisp looking and really is perfect for the lovely applique pattern. I just might have to go buy that online magazine! I must admit that I am really warming up to online publications.

Just exactly what I was going to ask! Did you use a machine blanket stitch?? I LOVE to do machine applique that way, and I usually stitch quite slowly so I can control nice, even stitches. So did you sit at your sewing machine, doing this, for like ---- 29 days straight????? :) just kidding - but not really. And also -- this is Gorgeous! You did a beautiful job, love the fabric choices.

😉, it was a lot of sewing, but really didn't take that long once I got started. I did use a small blanket stitch and used navy thread on the blues and white on the whites. I think I had it down to about 20 minutes per block after the first couple when I got into a rhythm. I actually used scraps for this-- the blue was a dark mottled blue from a wide quilt back trimmed away from a previous finish. The whites were just left over whites, what ever was big enough and white enough. The background & backing white is a bleached premium muslin. Everything from my stash, I didn't have to buy anything for this quilt ( except white thread when I went to quilt it-- my hubby said to me..." You call yourself a quilter & you don't have any white thread?!? Just what kind of quilter are you anyway? 😜)

Very stunning quilt and pattern! I would probably never tackle anything that intricate looking. It would take me years to finish!

i copied the applique pieces onto the paper backed fusible one evening, cut the blocks and fused the applique fabrics on a Saturday morning. Sat & cut out the applique pieces later that evening. Fused the pieces onto the background squares Sunday during House of Blues & started stitching. Stitched 5-6 blocks that day. Had to work that night & next three so later in the week finished stitching the appliqués. Saturday pieced the top, added the borders. Sunday loaded & quilted. Machine stitched the binding to front & took it to work with me. Hand stitched binding during breaks that night.
So-- 8 days start to completion. Fun pattern that looks much more difficult than it is.
