My starting fabric was the oriental fabric in the outside border all the way at the end of the photo. i'LL have to post a better picture so you can see it.

i bought the pattern also and they are offering a class for this quilt at LQS. I'm not sure I could do it on my own. The one hanging in the store was not nearly as pretty as yours. I was not sure I would sign up but seeing yours I can tell it is the beginning fabric that really matters, yes?
