My nephew's wife called me last Thursday and needed a lap quilt by this Thursday so found this top I had put together over the summer, so I sandwiched, quilted and bound it ....finished it Saturday and delivered it yesterday.

wow! quick work! i'm doing the same thing for a friend that i've learned is now in the nursing home. i found a block-of-the-month piece that was almost complete. today i'll add the borders, quilt it over the holidays and get it to her in January ( i'm not as quick as you, though!).

Country Quilter 12-19-2007 05:41 AM

Thanks all! Well, I had to hurry with this so I could get back to my holiday projects! LOL But I just couldn't turn her down....it is for a woman who just lost her baby so that pulled on my heart strings...such a sad thing!

I'm STILL working on my DGD's quilt! putting the final borders on it today! Should be up in the frames by tomorrow! I'm SO excited...it is turning out just like I hoped it would!!! I think I can, I think I can!

WOW! How did you do that?

See, it is folks like yourself who totally intimidate we beginners like myself!

I COULD NEVER DO THAT! Let alone that fast!!!!!

Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

Diamonds 12-23-2007 09:34 PM

I could not do it as fast as you did.. Your colors are excellent and I think it is a gorgeous pattern..

Country Quilter 12-24-2007 01:39 AM

I've heard the pattern called both "Buzzsaw" and "Aunt Betty's Attic".....

Buzzsaw

Free Quilt Pattern - Aunt Betty's Attic

As you can see the Buzzsaw uses 3 strips and the ABA uses 5 (which is what I did)

What is the pattern? It looks kind of like delectible mountains (or however you spell it ) :)

Debbie Murry 03-03-2008 07:40 PM

Rainbow 03-04-2008 02:55 AM

Now, robbijmorris, I love YOUR quilt in the side panel !!!! I plan on making one like that for a friend going off to college. Thought it would use up a lot of my stash, also !!!!

Rainbow 03-04-2008 02:59 AM

Country Quilter, what is a DGD quilt? You wrote "I'm STILL working on my DGD's quilt! " I'm still new at this quilting board and still unfamiliar with the terms.

Karenmay 03-04-2008 03:24 AM

I'm definately no expert Rainbow but I think dgd means dear grand daughter!!

Karen

Rainbow 03-04-2008 03:32 AM

OK...DGD as Dear Grand Daughter makes sense to ME !!!! THANKS
