I finally got this thing done for our distric attorny He wanted a Kentucky log cabin on top side and on the back he wanted a V down the middle of the quilt with University of Alabama material around the edge. Well this is what I came up with and I love it and he has heard about what I did and said he can''t wait to get it. I will give it to him on Thursday at our senior citizen center Easter lunch.

I have not been a fan of the log cabin ever since I made one when I was new to quilting. My fabric selection was terible at least in my view. But after seeing how wonderful yours looks I will have to give try it again. Is the log cabin the only block in the quilt?

karenm36 04-17-2011 04:45 PM

That quilt is beautiful. I haven't seen an arrangement like that before. Just goes to show how adaptable that pattern is.

Wow! I'm in Dothan, too, and am proud to share this city with a great quilter!

sylviak 04-19-2011 12:36 PM

Oh, I love the little cabins in the quilt! Did you have a pattern for them?

BeeNana 04-19-2011 12:43 PM

Since the DA is going to get that know-out gorgeous guilt, you can mail Tabby to me and also your Boston. They are both cute. Please come back and tell us about your event on Thurday. He is going to be one happy camper.......if he’s not just send him to the QB and we’ll fix that........lol

AlwaysQuilting 04-19-2011 12:51 PM

I love it--
How did you get the fabric with his(?) name on it for the back?

debcavan 04-19-2011 02:07 PM

I love your setting for the log cabin. I hve never seen that one before. The quilts both look great

I can't give upo my boston terrier, Cookie or that feline Tabby I have had them too long to part with them now besides I really need a quilt inspector which Tabby does very well. I found out today our DA has to work on Thursday so it looks like its going to be the first part of June before he gets the quilt but I will let you all know how he liked it.

I think your quilt looks amazing. I love the way you incorporated every single thing that your DA friend wanted in a quilt. Really just amazing how you were able to put everything he wanted into a single quilt. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you!

Mariposa 04-19-2011 07:22 PM

Wonderful quilt! You've done a great job on it!
