Hello. I just finished this one last night.

And here is the table shot so you can see what I did with the quilting a little better. I am learning. I'm in a constant state of learning. I am actually starting to enjoy the quilting part as well. Good thing as I have piles of tops to finish this year.

What I didn't show you was the 'floor shot' where the border wouldn't lie flat. Sigh. Oh well. Live and learn. It will look pretty on a bed, but definitely not a wall. The fabric that I used for the borders was simply too stretchy and I just sewed them on instead of measuring and cutting to fit the middle. (Blush, blush).

Here is the top...before quilting.

Floor shot...see how wavy the borders are? Sigh...

Just say you meant it to be that way ;) I think it's beautiful and won't keep you any less warm with wavy borders, so to heck with it. As you say, live and learn.

It might get better after you wash it and everything shrinks. It's really beautiful! Love the colors. I like how you made a square quilt not square. Looks great!

Sandygirl 03-05-2013 03:41 AM

I love your pattern. It is gorgeous!

I think it's fabulous! But I have a crush on anything made with 2.5" squares. :D

cathyvv 03-05-2013 03:52 AM

A very pretty quilt, indeed. Good quilting, too. As for the wavy sides - just don't put it on the floor!

Babs194068 03-05-2013 03:53 AM

What a great quilt

QuiltnNan 03-05-2013 04:06 AM

very nicely done. once it's on the bed, you'll forget that the borders are wavy.

Homespun 03-05-2013 04:31 AM

It's beautiful and I love waves!

catladyquilts 03-05-2013 04:51 AM

That is just a little more snuggle room in the quilt, it is so pretty no one will even notice the little bit of waves.

Carol Kral 03-05-2013 04:57 AM

Laughed at your response "just don't lay it on the floor!" lol. the Amish have a saying..."The only thing perfect is God". And you never stop learning when you quilt. I loved the quilt too.

abdconsultant 03-05-2013 05:02 AM

Lots of work there, feels good to finish! Great job.

DebraK 03-05-2013 05:16 AM

very pretty. I like your layout and quilting.

Tartan 03-05-2013 05:31 AM

It's a great quilt wavy borders and all! Adding large borders can be difficult if you don't measure and ease in but they can stretch sometimes with quilting. The great part about quilting is there is always room for improvement.....and that's what I keep telling myself.:D

BeckySt 03-05-2013 05:43 AM

Great quilt, i love design.

Diane007 03-05-2013 05:50 AM

ontheriver 03-05-2013 06:34 AM

Wanabee Quiltin 03-05-2013 06:35 AM

Pretty!!! Love the quilting on it!

sharoney 03-05-2013 06:39 AM

I think it turned out great- have you tried washing it?

barny 03-05-2013 06:40 AM

Now you know you aren't getting graded. I would cover up with that quilt as soon as any other. Sometimes we just want to get it done. right?

mtkoldra 03-05-2013 06:41 AM

very nice quilt, love your quilting as well!

gabeway 03-05-2013 07:02 AM

Fantastic quilt and great use of scraps!

francie yuhas 03-05-2013 07:42 AM

I doubt anyone will jump under that quilt, and " good grief! The border is wavy!" We are our own worst enemies sometimes. I like it!

Mariposa 03-05-2013 07:49 AM

Great job! Very colorful, and nice quilting too! :)

Canada Kate 03-05-2013 07:51 AM

Looks great to me, your FMQ is WAY better than anything I could do. Don't be so hard on yourself!

QuiltNama 03-05-2013 08:03 AM

Very nice quilt. Once it is on the bed your border will look just fine. Every quilt I do, learn something new. Your FM quilting is wonderful. Keep up the good work.

mighty 03-05-2013 08:23 AM

bonitagaye 03-05-2013 10:18 AM

It's a quilt...I thought they were supposed to wave so they can be soft and wrap around you! I love Waves!

PaperPrincess 03-05-2013 10:46 AM

Lovely quilt! Non quilters will think that you were so creative to put those ruffles on the sides!

irishrose 03-05-2013 10:49 AM

Very nice! I like the pattern and your quilting suits it perfectly.

So true! I have to remind myself to not point out my mistakes when I make a quilt. If we could only learn to keep quiet, no one would ever know about them. haha

Just what I was thinking! I love your design and your quilting! I think it's a beautiful scrappy!

Tweety2911 03-06-2013 04:11 AM

The quilting makes this quilt a beauty! Love the use of your scraps in this pattern.

sew4nin 03-06-2013 07:28 AM

Definitely nothing to be ashamed of in that quilt! It is lovely. I love that you got the look of points by using contrasting colors in all the right places. I think it is only noticeable because you have it laid out on the floor. You will probably never have it laid out perfectly on the floor like that again. No one will ever notice when it is in use.
I know we quilters can be hard on ourselves. I used to have trouble with wavy borders. I don't have that problem since I started using Bonnie Hunter's technique for borders.

Here is the link to her instructions.
