Finished my Bed Runner

2 Attachment(s)
Just finished this bed runner for my friend Julia whose feet are always cold at night. I had seen this stitch on a quilt at my LQS and just had to try it on this bed runner. I like it on the lighter colors, but it

gets lost on the browns.

It's very pretty. Is the stitch difficult to work? What size are most bed runners? I am still learning about different quilting projects, and techniques. Are the bed runners used only at the bottom top of the regular quilts or spreads for extra warmth for the feet and/or to look extra pretty at the end of the bed when made? Sorry for all the questions, but I like what you have did. :)

The stitch was pretty easy to do. I just kept the center at the seam line like stitch in the ditch. This bed runner is 68" long as I wanted it to cover then end of the bed without too much overhang. And I think they fit the bill for all of the above.

Thank you, and I went to your doggie site. Some wonderful dogs.

Thank you. We love them all and so much fun competing with them. My oldest (12 1/2) just came in fromt he cold and went on a rampage running around the living room flipping pillows and jumping from sofa to love seat....too funny as her name is Buck Hollow's Rampage.

I too love the stitch which I saw at a quilt show. I want to try it but haven't yet. It certainly decorates your quilt nicely!
