Finished for my Dear MIL
 

My 77 y/o MIL has not sewn or quilted for many years and recently asked if I would help her make a quilt for their bed. Of course! She shared a magazine picture of a quilt she liked so I drew up a similar block pattern in EQ8. She picked her fabrics, I cut/prepped everything and she assembled her blocks. It was left with me to add borders and quilt for her. I decided to add ruffles and make a few shams that I'm sure she will love. I'm so pleased with the finish because it is just perfect for her taste and decor. Thanks for looking :)

She is with her daughter standing vigil in the final moments of her life so I am hopeful this quilt will wrap my inlaws with love and provide them with some sort of peace when they return home and grieve the loss of their daughter... I'm sorry to weight heavy on this happy post but, unfortunately, that is where she is right now.

This is just gorgeous. You MIL will definitely love it. My sister, 75, wants me to add a ruffle on the quilt I'm making her, but I'm not sure how to do this. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for replying. That is a difficult situation to be in - - - - - (I never know what to say next that would be appropriate - my usual hope is that the person that is dying has an "easy exit" and that the ones left behind are left with good memories and a sense of peace.)
