Hi Everyone - I just love the Stack and Whack Kaleidoscope quilt blocks. Found this fabric and just had to get some. Hope you all like it.

I've never done stack & whack but may try someday. I love the bright, pretty colors you used in your quilt. I can see why you like it so much. Thanks for sharing.

I too am a great fan of kaleidoscope quilts. Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous. An unusual pattern that I haven't seen before, could you tell us the name and availability of the pattern please.

Pattern name

I used EQ7 and the Kaleidoscope block 9" size - the center is 5 blocks across and 7 blocks down - you need 13 Kaleidoscopes with the floral print and 17 block with the center 8 triangles alternating floral and background color. The pattern I used is found in Magic Stack -n- Whack Quilts by Bethany S.Reynolds I made a few changes to get the size I wanted.

It looks great. I have made a regular Stack n Whack, but this is a neat variation.

wildyard 04-23-2017 01:58 PM

Wonderful quilt and fabric!!! One of my favorite playtimes also, Kaleidoscopes!

redquilter 04-23-2017 04:47 PM

That is real cool!

sgray7169 04-23-2017 05:52 PM

Publish on QB

I'm new at this not sure how to publish this on the board. If you scroll up on the thread I gave the name of the book I used to get the pattern. I did modify the pattern from the one in the book using my EQ7 program. I find something I really like and then I go into EQ7 and play with it until I come up with something that really clicks. I retired in 2012 and I've been making quilts ever since.

Quilter 65 04-25-2017 04:41 AM

Love your result - especially the surrounding black. I've been working on one for 3 years now and seeing yours makes me want to finally sew all those little triangles together.
