I ended up taking the orange blocks out since I only had 2. I was able to incorporated them into the scrappy binding. Now onto another quilt for another sister with more of Grandmas hankies.

Beautiful quilt. She should be so happy that she has a sister that quilts

Wow, your Grandma sure had a lot of hankies!

All joking aside, your quilt is lovely.

I've never seen a quilt like this made with hankies, so many blue hankies. I bought many vintage hankies on my trip north in October and will be making a quilt for my SIL. I am not ready to use my Mother's hankies yet.

That's a really striking pattern!! Did you use random sized white rectangles in between the hankies? Great idea!

That is a very unusual hankie quilt. I love the colors in this one. Good job.

Beautiful quilt.......

I used the Totally Tubular Technique from the Cottage Mama. I mixed the hankie pieces in with regular fabric. Lots of the white parts are from the hankies too. Once I got all of my hankie pieces prepped, it came together really fast.

I found it on the web! Wow, that's super neat. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I have been looking for a way to use my mom-in-laws hankies in a quilt. You have given me a great idea. I never thought about cutting them into squares. Did you back them with anything? Some of the ones I have are quite delicate.

mjhaess 12-01-2015 12:13 PM

She will cherish it....
