Very cool! I love it!

NUTMEG10 02-22-2011 12:01 PM

I love it. The fabric is very interesting and would love to know who makes it. I would love to make a tote bag with it

lindy-2 02-22-2011 12:15 PM

nice

jeanneb52 02-22-2011 03:58 PM

Knockout colors. I love the blocks, all unique and all wonderful Job well done.

roseee 02-22-2011 05:48 PM

Your stack and whack is really beautiful. I have been working on one for quite a while. I am trying to quilt it myself using my embroidery machine and hooping each block. It is very time consuming. I hope it turns out as nice as yours.

Nettie Phillips 02-22-2011 05:52 PM

Pretty. The fabric is so cute and made up real well.

Mariposa 02-22-2011 06:05 PM

Pretty quilt! Original fabric is cute!

Lucy90 02-22-2011 06:07 PM

What a beautiful quilt. Another project to put on the list

iowabelle 02-22-2011 06:55 PM

I love your original fabric. Isn't it amazing what you can make with a fabric with lots of design and color to it (and that you couldn't imagine what you'd make with it?).

annette1952 02-22-2011 07:04 PM

So pretty!

spartan quilter 02-22-2011 07:08 PM

I am going to attempt a OBW and tried to think how to show off the original fabric, and I really love your ides. It is a beautiful quilt, and it is hard to believe that it came out of that fabric. Wow, great job.

Sorry Izaquilter, I only had 1yrd of it. I Couldn't tell you the name of it either but it's a Michael Miller fabric if you wanted to do a search. I've had it for about 2 years so it may not be available anymore.

sewnsewer2 02-22-2011 08:19 PM

WOW! That looks great!!

GrammaPatches 02-22-2011 09:43 PM

Very clever idea to put the original fabric on the back. I also liked the narrow red border strip, too.

Busy Bee 02-22-2011 09:46 PM

Very Nice

OMG! Way cool! Very different from the original fabric. I like the way you did the borders. Very pretty!

dhanke 02-22-2011 10:56 PM

It looks great! I love your fabric choice and the border is really attractive, I'm going to bookmark it for future projects. Your quilting choice was good, anything busier could have detracted from the blocks.

Kellie G 02-23-2011 09:05 AM

Gorgeous. You did a wonderful job.

Prayerquilter 02-23-2011 09:06 AM

Very beautiful.

Aunt Bea 02-23-2011 11:14 AM

Really really pretty. From funky fabric to awesome quilt.

stitchesnstaples 02-23-2011 11:20 AM

Like that you put the fabric on the back to show what it looked like. Very good idea. I am working on one and never thought of that.
Yours is very pretty, nice job!

Annz 02-23-2011 07:45 PM

It looks great.

WI Rose 02-24-2011 08:24 AM

That is so cool. The square of the original fabric on the back was a great plan.

purple_butterfly 02-25-2011 03:41 AM

Thankyou everyone for your kind comments.

It's always a good idea to put some of the original fabric somewhere on the quilt, either in the border or on the back because everyone is curious to see what it looked like before. :-)

QM 02-25-2011 03:43 AM

Very nice work. I particularly like that you mixed hex and octagonal pieces.

Sharon Chaffino 02-27-2011 11:56 AM

Very interesting and different setting. Very pretty quilt.

Mollymoo4u 02-27-2011 03:53 PM

lovely

deplaylady 03-21-2011 05:17 AM

[quote=feline fanatic]I just love how you put a block of the original fabric in the middle in the back. I am always curious on S&W as well as OBW what the original fabric looked like. Your SID looks great and I love your quilted oval and diamond border motif as well. It is the perfect compliment to the way you broke up the border into quarters with those narrow red strips.[/quote

Ditto! Great quilt and love seeing the fabric it came from1

tealfalcon 03-21-2011 05:18 AM

love it...i love the block of orig fabric on the back

marmalade 04-15-2011 09:01 AM

The original fabric you started with is so whimsical!
Love both the fabric and how your quilt turned out.
Putting the original fabric block on the reverse is a great touch!

roseee 05-22-2011 05:03 PM

Wow, that is really beautiful. You did a really nice job. I just finished my stack n whack and it nearly drove me crazy. It did turn out really nice though, but t took me a long time.

purple_butterfly 05-22-2011 11:05 PM

Thanks Roseee, are you going to post a picture of yours, I'd love to see it :-D

Ann63 05-23-2011 02:21 AM

Stunning. I love your sashing. Great quilting.

bfvsloggie 11-09-2011 04:51 PM

I love this quilt and the way you enhanced the design with the trim. I just got a book on stack and whack and one for OBW, can't wait to get started on one.
