I finished the top of the quilt the pattern says to just put it together and bind. I am debating if I should add a border. This quilt is for my son for Christmas. He did not want flowers or anything fancy...he said plain...well its not plain but I think he will like it. He has a dog and a cat so I used the paws theme. All most all of the squares are paws...can't see them in the picture.

Those are awesome fabrics!! I like the idea of a border too :D:D:D
|
I would use a border.

I think a lighter colored border with a dark binding would look really nice. Are you trying to get it to be a certain size?
Love the top and the pawprints theme! Your son will be very happy. |
I think I would use a border as well.

I think you guys are right! I am going to add a border. I just looked at the flannel I bought and it not enough....so bummed I bought it a quilt shop several hours away. I hope Joanne's has quality flannel. I read that you should only use flannel from a quilt shop since flannel tends to pill.

I would add a border.

I think it is calling out for a border (or two) :)

I have made several bargellos. I put a border on them all. They just didn't seem finished without the border. Just my opinion.
|
My husband said the same thing...that it does not look finished with out the border. I just bought more fabric and the flannel. Tomorrow I will hopefully finish it,

Nice quilt - I would had at least 1 border, maybe 2

Nice quilt, but I agree with everyone it needs a border, I look at a border as a frame for the art we make.
|
Love the colors! I most always put a border on my quilts. It just seems to frame it so nicely.
|
Love the fabrics but I would put a border on it.

I would do at least one border, maybe two. It would make your pattern pop. Love your colors and cute paw fabrics.
|
i personally like borders to frame the quilt
|
That's a really nice "son" quilt! He's sure to like it.

I found a quilt shop that is going to do the Meandering: quilting done 'freehand' in random curved lines and swirls for me...35.00 a quilt...Woohoo!!!! I can't wait to see what they look like!
|
Neat quilt, I'd add a border!
|
I've made a couple of bargellos in a similar pattern. I have not added borders as they were large enough, but did put a distinctive binding on it that sort of showed it off and acted as a narrow border of sorts.
|
I decided not to do a border....just did not have it in me...I finished two large lap quilt just need to bind with a dark flannel material. I have another quilt to make...Christmas rush...after christmas I will make quilts for the beds and do more designs and harder blocks and patterns.
