yep the sleave is already on it and on Thursday my brother is taking me to Lowe's to get a rod. That way he can say he helped. My other brother will be the one who hangs it up for mom. :)

or something like that. What do you think?

Sounds good. When the stupid thing is fixed - I will do whatever you want.

That is just beautiful. Your mom is going to love it. I love that backing fabric too. So pretty. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing.

Very pretty, I'm sure it will be loved. Yes, like pianolady says, put your name on it. Even then there's no guarantee that it won't come up missing but at least you'll know that you tried. When I made a quilt for my late MIL while she was in the nursing home I wrote right on the back, "This quilt belongs to ______ _______ and her granddaughter ______. That was my way of trying to insure that it came back to us. It did.

BonniFeltz 07-07-2010 09:54 AM

good idea about the "and her granddaughter is".

raptureready 07-07-2010 11:42 AM

Well, it was a tied quilt and although granddaughter was just 8 at the time, she help pick out the fabric, the backing, helped sandwich and tie it. I put the binding on. After Kathryn died we did get it back. Of course we were the ones that had to go get everything from her room, handle all the paperwork, etc. My dh was POA and executor. She was a good MIL and I still miss her.

Nice. It will cheer up her room.
