Very pretty!

What do you use for sandwiching?
I use double knit fabrics. They are plentiful at the thrift stores and they don't make the runners too lumpy. I want them flat enough to hold a lit candle if that is what the recipient desires. I find the double knit gives a good weight and body.

All very pretty runners, and for a great cause! I HATE cancer!
Pretty runners for a good cause! That's a good idea to use double knit as a batting.
Very nice....
Hope you raise lots of money with those great table runners.
very nice runners!!!
Great job. They all look wonderful.
The double knit batting is a great idea. One or two layers?
Nice of you to do charity work! |
I use one layer of double knit as the batting.
I love to make runners!! They are fast and I can just make it up as I go because it can be any size. I stop when I think it's done. Problem is, I don't use runners!! The way my house is set up, they would be in the way and more trouble then they are worth, so I need to find people to give them to. This cancer charity is a great outlet for me. The auction is in October and I hope to make even more by then. |
nice, hope they bring a lot of money

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Never thought of using double knit. I always use a polyester type felt in mine. It's inexpensive, comes in 60 inch widths, gives good body, no fraying, easy to cut in any shape and washes well. Only thing to remember is to NOT dry in a HOT dryer.

Cute runners..
What a brilliant idea! And very nice designs as well.
What a great idea for charity auctions! Just a hint for additional batting fabrics, flannel drapes well when used as batting, too.. Thanks for posting some of your runners for us to see!
Very nice. I hope you make lots of money for the cancer charity!
