Have thought about doing this, but was a bit reticent because it looked really complicated, but I finally gave it a shot and this is how it turned out. I am making a baby quilt for my new great grand son due in Sept. His Momma wanted bright, brilliant colors to draw his attention instead of, as she called it, washed out , boring pastels. LOL! If I had knwon this block was so wasy to make I'd have made one a long time ago!
Sorry the pic is so blurry, DH took it with his cellphone. The colors are very bright green w/tiny black dots and the Orange is tone on tone, pretty bright as well. D9P (sorry its so blurry) |
Love it ~ your colors are so vibrant.

Cute and bright fabric!

Looks great! The D9P is a great pattern. It's hard to chop up after you sew the first one, but it's an easy way to make a simple block become a more complicated looking pattern.

Very colorful.

Looks great! Momma is so right about the bright colours, I made a pastel quilt for a great nephew and backed it with a bright(I thought gaudy) green print and he still, at 1 year, prefers the backside! So much for the old days, we obviously didn't know how to stimulate our babies, going by today!

The colors are so pretty. Isn't that the cutest trick to make these.

That is going to be a pretty quilt.

I love the disappearing 9 patch...I normally place the blocks so that the seams do not touch.
|
It's a wonderful pattern, and gorgeous colors.
