Very nice combination of blocks, nice job. HooRay for a first quilt, first one is always the hardest, keep going.

congrats on your first quilt...there will be many more, right all? re: quilting....I remember being told by someone a loooong time ago not to leave any spaces when quilting that is larger than your outstretched hand, so that is kind of my mantra now......

if you don't want it, I'd be happy to have it for my bed. GOOD JOB

I think your first quilt looks like a winner. I like everything about it, the pattern, colors, fabric, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing your future quilts.

Great job! That's exactly what I remember being on the bed as a child...a few years ago.

Love the colours and especially the bird fabric.

that is really cute

Doesn't it feel good to get that first one completely done? It does remind of quilts I use to nap on as a child, and I love the blues. Now you have some experience to draw on, and you will find your skills just get better and better with each one you make. Have fun and keep making quilts.

It definitely has the look you're going for. I love those as well. I think it needs some tie knots to complete that look. If I were doing it that's what i would add anyways. Probably because those old patchwork quilts *I* am used to (and I"m not that old so I remember these from my grandparents' beds), all had tie knots so those add to that nostalgic feel for me.

Super for your first quilt. Keep going.

CAJAMK 10-09-2012 08:28 AM

My best friend would love that! She is a birdie nut. You did a lovely job!

I like it. I like the placement of the blocks and the colors. I like that it is reversible. I have found I tend to quilt more now than when I first started, the quilt seems to last longer.
