first Christmas quilt and tiny tumbler

The Christmas quilt is from a charm pack. I love the colors. The second is also from a charm pack and it is a WIP. Still have to put borders on.

The third is made of tiny tumbler shapes. I received a box full of small floral pieces (cut outs from the making of scrubs). My friend got them from the factory making nurses scrubs. They really were small and curved pieces and appear to be the cut out from under the arm. I made a tumbler shape and cut out the shape = 1.5 inches at the top and 2.75 inches on the bottom. I sashed each group and this is what I ended up with. I like it. It is going to be gifted when finished. I have enough of those small floral pieces for at least three more of these quilts...

Very pretty, the tiny tumblers are adorable! I too am working on a Christmas charm pack quilt. I always make a Christmas in July project every year. I record some Christmas movies to watch and burn a "Christmas" scented candle for ambience while I work on my annual project. HO HO HO!

Very pretty quilts. I love the way you used the small tumbler and sashed them in blocks. All the quilts are lovely.

That is the way to do it and I do believe I am going to follow suit and really make it an event to do Christmas in July. You are awesome indeed. Thanks.

All are lovely--I love the colors in the second one.

PenniF 07-17-2014 02:15 PM

If you get the Hallmark Channel they are in the midst of their Christmas in July...been sewing to it for the past 2 weeks.
LOVE these quilts - the second one particularly- Kudos on those beautifully matched corners.

I think the tumbler quilt is great, lots of color and a wonderful use of scraps.

malega 07-17-2014 03:56 PM

All of them are very beautiful.

Great quilts, love the little tumblers they are so colorful!

JuneBillie 07-17-2014 04:13 PM

They all are so pretty. My favorite would be how you did the tumblers in the squares. I love scrappy quilts with all the pretty pieces in the squares like that.

coopah 07-17-2014 04:59 PM

Wonderful work! You've been busy, busy, busy!

I agree, my favorite is the tumbler quilt and I must say its the first time I have liked a tumbler quilt! Its so pretty with the scrappy floral prints and the sashing adds so much interest! You took the "boring" out of tumbler quilts.

3 great colorful quilts. The first two gives me ideas for some of my charm packs. Thanks for sharing.

marilynr 07-17-2014 06:02 PM

Boy, have you been busy! All are great, but the second one is just lovely. All your corners are perfectly matched; how
do you do that? And great use of all those many little pieces.

gabeway 07-18-2014 04:37 AM

Awesome job on all!

Mariposa 07-18-2014 04:39 AM

Very pretty quilts. Now if I could allow myself to use my charms packs I'd have something to show.

Dhanke, Love the idea of all the Christmas in July. Would be great for a sewing group!

They look wonderful! What a wonderful way to use those scrubby scraps!

matraina 07-19-2014 09:00 AM

All are beautiful but I love the colors in the second one.

The small tumbler blocks-Nice. I have made several tumblers using different size pieces, but never thought about sashing them into blocks. Good way to use scraps & so easy to do. Thanks for showing us.

They are all nice, but the tumbler is my favorite. I love the scrappiness. I bet it was fun to sew too...so happy.
