to the person who said " trim away some of the water so the darkness doesn't show thru". WOW! good eye. I didn't even see that. I read your comment and saw the picture again and saw it. Details like that really matter. Thanks so much for the sight. I will remember this when I do a landscape one day.

Yes, that would have made a big difference. The lighthouse was appliqued onto the background, batting and backing. For those who have made many landscape quilts: How would you do this? I love the process and want to make more, but also want to learn from my mistakes. More suggestions, please?

This is a winner. I like those clam shells in the foreground of the sandy beach. Nice touch. And the shape and angles of the lighthouse, with the curving rail at the top, to me, this adds depth. Your little boat looks almost three dimensional, something about the pole. All in all, it is very nice. You cannot go wrong with blue and white and red.
