This quilt ended up way beyond what I thought I could do. I have to thank God for the bright ideas and my husband for his artistic monitering. My 13 yr old grandson hopefully, will be blown away by this Christmas gift.

If your gandson doesn't like it, you can send it my way!! GREAT QUILT! Are all those little waves pieced out of tiny squares? Wow!

You should be very proud, that's a wonderful piece. What size is it?

tweetytreatiam 08-05-2007 08:46 AM

Beautiful quilt & I thank you for sharing it with us.

I made it to fit his full size bed. It is now quilted and ready for the border, which will make it 83x98.

Yes. I made a series of rows sideways and then cut and sew them together to form the wave pattern.

I love this quilt! What a fun quilt for your grandson, and if he's not interested, I'll fight annamarie for it.
I love how you made the waves. Great technique.

I like it too. The waves are perfect. Really sets it off.

Yes, I live in Florida and my grandson comes to visit and loves the beach. I'd love to convince his parents to move here too, but for now, I'm content with visits. Thanks for asking.

ann reagan 08-06-2007 04:20 AM

Thank you. I have been working on it for over five months and it has almost taken over my life for that time. It has been a larger undertaking than any quilt I've ever made.

Ann,
This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen! I love the beach and ocean and PALM TREES, and everything that goes with all that.

You've made such a wonderful creation, here! You are very talented. I'm sure your grandson will love it!!!

ann reagan 08-07-2007 04:14 AM

Thank you. It mushroomed and grew into more than I thought I could do. It will be hard to give it up when I finish.

ButtercreamCakeArtist 08-07-2007 05:48 AM

;) Maybe your grandson would prefer a new football or something instead! KIDDING! It would be hard for me to give that one up!
