Love your colors. The quilt turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

dphelps 03-16-2011 07:48 AM

Such a beautiful quilt. It must have been fun to make with all those beautiful colors. I don't think anyone noticed the bleakness of the outdoors because it truly brightens everything.

sidmona 03-16-2011 07:49 AM

Beautiful!

quiltykitty 03-16-2011 08:28 AM

Beautiful. I have seen so many stunning OBW quilts on this site that it makes want to make one.

Caroline S 03-16-2011 12:50 PM

Warning, OBWs are addicting. This was so much fun to make. I think I spent more time arranging and moving the hexigons than sewing them together. Thanks for the KUDOs.

duckydo 03-16-2011 02:19 PM

Very nice

Janquiltz 03-16-2011 04:00 PM

That is a beautiful layout. You have been sewing like crazy to have gotten this far in a month. Were you using a pattern - and if so which one?

donnalynett 03-16-2011 05:40 PM

Beautiful! Please send some sunshine down this way....

dunster 03-16-2011 06:04 PM

Your OBW is just gorgeous. I sure miss the sun - it rained buckets yesterday and today.

What a beauty I need to figure out how to do this.

It's very pretty. I like your color arrangement.

Patchworkmarion 03-16-2011 09:12 PM

Ziva 03-16-2011 09:14 PM

Beautiful OBW. Sounds like you are bringing Spring to your area.

Momsmurf 03-16-2011 09:51 PM

Beautiful! I also love the tourquoise (I can never spell that word or if it's correct, it sure looks wrong! :? ) border.
Kona Bay has great Asians...but I'm sort of leaning toward Kaufman these days.

I really love your OBW also.

sassey 03-16-2011 10:54 PM

ConnieF 03-17-2011 04:49 AM

Wonderful - congrats on your first of many.

Caroline S 03-17-2011 07:01 AM

Hi Jan. I used Maxine Rosenthal's book One-Block Wonders for the instructions to make the hexagon blocks. The rest of the design is mine. She also has another book titled One-Block Wonders Cubed that I may purchase.

Nettie Phillips 03-17-2011 05:59 PM

Pretty.

beautress 03-17-2011 06:02 PM

Really nice effort, Caroline S.

kgb007 03-17-2011 10:47 PM

it is absolutely beautiful quilt top and if you do not mind me asking what lenght of basic fabric did you need? I have just purchased some for my mosaic quilt and am not sure if I will have enough. Thanx

Depends on the distance between repeats. You will need six repeats plus a bit more. I usually end up getting 5 yards, but again, I do check to see if the repeat is 18 or 24 inches apart and purchase accordingly. (If I have my 40% coupon I get more if I really love the fabric.

purple_butterfly 03-18-2011 01:29 AM
