Mine the first problem (in the beginning)!
It is a blanket which I have sewed 20 years ago.
It was tore, in places has torn. I want it to restore.

Where is it torn and how bad ?

I love the way the colors come together. Nice quilt.

Maybe a close up photo of the tears would help someone with a better idea of how to repair it. I would be interested in hearing the suggestions too. It's good information to have for some of our "very loved" quilts!!

applique some flowers in different places. put some over the torn parts. spread them around so it looks like it was designed that way. :-)

It is hard to see the torn parts. I would stick a piece of fabric underneath the tear and sew it down with tiny stitches. Another way would be to put some wonder under with the piece of fabric and iron it down. This way it will glue the tear together and make it stronger.

I assumed to sew accurately manually new details. Though the decision with flowers more interesting.

If you have any of the fabric left, you could replace the torn sections.

I also like the idea of the applique - but for me, the blue colored fabric suggests fish and boats.

Depending on where the damage is, If it is in the seams you can had sew it with a hidden stich. If the material is splitting, depending on where it is on the fabric. If you can not had sew it with the hidden stich, then maybe you can find some material that is colse in color and design. You go to the damaged piece and carefully remove it by hand, relace the damaged piece with the new and hand sew it in place. If the color is to bright You can take those new pieces and I take some water add a couple of drops of bleach, then soak the material in it. Let it lighten to match your old material. Let it dry and then add it to you quilt.

The quilt is old and I think-think-think about colors and pieces. Idea with the drops of a bleach is so unexpected for me!

Ditto - that's a neat pattern. But I can't see the tears.

It reminds me of a peaceful ocean. You could also use fish or dolphins for the appliques.

you know too me it look like water waves it be nice to put fish applique on them and were it torn and wore out is

That is a really nice quilt!!! My first thought is to applique something on the problem areas, applique hides boo boos nicely!
