Started making the blocks on New Years Eve . I decided to do quilt as you go . This is 54 inches square and I have made no impact at all on my scraps stash . The back is scrappy squares . I aim to make as many scrappies as I can from my enormous scrap mountain .

Lovely. I also plan to make some scrappies this year. Good Luck with yours. BrendaK

beautiful scrappy

Very nice. I like string quilts and haven't made any in a couple of years. Thanks to your example, I will have to remedy that.
beautiful quilt.
nicely done
Great scrappy! I have made a big Spiderweb (done), Twist and Shout (top) and a smaller Spiderweb with my leftover blocks ( sandwiched and ready for quilting)and it didn't even put a dent in my scraps. I am all scrapped out for a while.

Looks great! Good luck- you'll need it if your scrap pile is like mine...LOL
I really like that. So cheerful. String quilts are so much fun to make--mindless and merry ! But I know what you mean about that absence of a dent in the scrap pile. Those little scraps have reproductive organs that go into overdrive when the lights are out.

Gorgeous! I love the colors in your quilt. I just assembled scraps for a king-size braid quilt and really hoped to make a huge dent in my scraps. Nope.
I'm trying to keep up with Bonnie's organizing system and it seems like a race to keep up with trimming. |
like your scrappy quilt

I love making string blocks but the scrap pile just seems to grow. BTW your quilt is very pretty.

Nice looking scrappie.
Love this...I make a lot of string quilts with my scraps, too.
Love your colors! I get gifted with a lot of scraps and it's time to cur strips!
Lovely scrappy.
No dent in the stash? That's disheartening. I'm on a buying moratorium. But I've purchased fabric twice already this year.
Did you see MSQC did a tute on paper piecing? |
Great string quilt. I have some string blocks that I've been building from time to time somewhere in a drawer...I like the looks of your sashing between the blocks. Good luck stash busting...you're off to a good start for 2017.

I love your scrappy quilt. What a positive way to clean up some scraps for the New Year!
Nice scrappy. As a QAYG, did you do a batting as the foundation?
Love your quilt and it is really a good way to use up scraps. BUT---my scraps seem to multiply over night!
Thank you all for the lovely comments! I used a lightweight interfacing for the foundation .
Such a beautiful scrappy.

I need to get busy with this myself!

I really like the effect you have gotten with your scrappy. I also have a scrap mountain, as well as UFOs. So much to do!
