First quilt with all solids
3 Attachment(s)
This is the first quilt I've done with all solids. I wanted to do something a bit more masculine for my adult stepson, and this is what I came up with. I pieced and quilted it with my Brother PQ1500S. This is the third quilt I've finished, so I think I have to stop calling myself a new quilter now, even though I still feel very inexperienced. I have so much to learn!
Oh, by the way, the quilt pattern in the rectangles is the free motion swirl, which I learned from Angela Walters in her Craftsy class, Free Motion Quilting in Negative Space. So many great ideas! Loved it! I did all free motion squirrels and, if you look closely, you'll see one free motion squirrel. Scott loves squirrels, so I had to throw one in there. :) Thanks for looking! |
With beautiful quilting like that your a pro.
Love the quilt and quilting. |
It looks to me like you're learning very fast. I love your quilt.

Thank you so much! Just don't look too closely. LOL I don't quite have the rhythm down yet, so the stitches definitely aren't even. Also, on the next quilt, I won't use variegated thread. I thought it would look cool on the back, but it's sort of disconcerting to see the thread when it's dark and then not see it when it goes light. Next time, I'll match the backing fabric more closely so all you see is texture.
