First Quilt on my Long Arm!

1 Attachment(s)
This quilt will be finding a new home soon but it's going to be hard to part with it! It will be used in a raffle for a Mastiff group to raise funds to pay vet bills all around the world. Found fun fabrics with mastiffs printed and then played with the quilting in the different sections. Even did free hand paw prints! I may be addicted to my long arm!

Very exciting to have first quilt off your long arm! Nice quilt and worthy cause. I’ve never used a long arm but I can see how fun it would be.

Congratulations on your first quilt off your long arm. Looks like you did a great job & you are having fun with it. That's a really cute dog themed quilt (with paw print quilting). It's for a good cause & hope it brings lots of money for the group.

You did a good job. You will be a pro in no time, most people start with one design but you did different ones so keep practicing!

Great first project...we look forward to seeing more of your work along the way. A tad green with envy...I have narrowed my longarm search down to two machines and hope to have one before Christmas. Wonderful charity quilt.

Pretty quilt--and awesome quilting.

What machines have made your list? I have to admit it was a bit of an impulse buy, but the price was right at the quilt show. And the quilt that is being loaded today is a mammoth and I was dreading quilting it on my sewing machine.

Congrats on your first quilt on the longarm. It was so scary for me. And there was so much to remember, which leaders to attach what, etc. Now it is all old hat as it will be for you in a while. I just finished number 1005, all custom quilted. Needless to say I have figured out which leader is which. The longarm has become an extension of my arm. I am so thrilled for you. I hope you have a wonderful journey on your machine. I learned a little at a time as will you. One thing I did was keep a journal with the size of the quilt, type of thread, number of bobbins and time it took. I put a stop watch from Walmart on my machine. It cost $10 back then. I can see over the years how much faster I have gotten along with seeing the progress in my quilting.

Good Idea on the logbook! I do that for spinning yarn, didn't think of it in this application. I'm a long way off 1005! Wow! The next quilt is already on the frame. I did pillow shams to match it and to practice rulers before going to the main event. Couldn't find a ruler that worked for what I wanted so my hubby made me one on his 3D printer and it works awesome! Here's one of the pillow shams quilted. I was going for a stained glass effect because that's what the quilt reminds me of. The black has a meander around the outside and wishbones between the colours.
