This is my first quilt. No pattern whatsoever and it is horrible even for a first quilt. It's tied but the way I bound it I can quilt it later(which I plan to)
So anyway, here you go!

Love the color. Looks like a nice quilt to wrap up in. Good job.

You did a great job, love the blues. :D

I think you did a great job for your first effort. The only thing I might suggest...it's hard to tell from the picture how close your ties are together. You need to read on your batting and make sure you follow their directions. If you don't tie close enough together your batting (especially cotton) may bunch after you wash it. Trust me, I learned this lesson the hard way :) My friend's grandson has a quilt that looks like little hamsters are living in it. Anyway, you did very well!!!!

There are no terrible quilts. Be proud that you finished it, and take what you have learned for the next one...I am glad to see others willing to show their firsts and accept the praises from the quilters who have done many. I am an inexperienced quilter compared to many on here, but still feel at home here with the "pros". everyone is so nice, I enjoy it.

Paganquilter 11-04-2008 07:04 PM

I wish my first had turned out as well as yours. Well-done! :-)

I think your quilt is beautiful! Love all those blues!

Just remember with time you get better. We all started like you. You are young and have many years to quilt. Keep up the good work at least you finished your quilt. Enjoy it and do not be so hard on yourself

I love all the blues! You have some great fabrics! Great first quilt! Now you have to make more!

CissyQuilts 11-05-2008 11:45 AM

 You did a nice job, Emily! Considering the fact that you are only 13, it looks great. I made my first quilt when I was 38 and it was horrible! I won't show it to anyone.

nancee 11-05-2008 12:05 PM

I think it is beautiful

Kyiav10 11-05-2008 01:24 PM

Pretty quilt. I like the blues. Nice work on your first quilt. Now on to the next one.

For me, every quilt is a learning experience. I have to keep telling myself that the only perfect quilt block or quilt is the one in my head. Your quilt looks lovely. Do not berate yourself for its imperfections, that is what makes it unique and hand made. Think of all you have learned in the process of making this quilt and the things you will do differently next time. I am proud of you.

You did great! I love all the blues. I think it's go awesome that a young girl your age is even interested! Keep it up!

Very nice quilt. I love blues. I hated the first quilt I made my oldest DD. I didn't want to give it to her, but she convinced me to. She told me when she sleeps with that quilt on her bed it keeps her warm and she feels all the love I put in the quilt for her. OK, now I love the quilt. So let someone you love curl up in that quilt and you will see how beautiful it looks.
