I started this back in June and worked on it in bits and pieces. I got the top done last night. This is going to be a Christmas present for my mom.

Buddy letting me know I had a block turned the wrong way.

Great job-my first ever quilt was a log cabin too. It is a fun block and you did it well!!!

reneebobby 08-11-2008 08:06 AM

Great job and Buddy good work sniffing out mistakes I might need to borrow him someday. Oh you'll need to post pics of mom with her new quilt.

Chele 08-11-2008 08:23 AM

That's so funny Buddy is looking at the turned block! Why do animals feel the need to get on blocks and tops? My pup does the same thing LOL! Great looking quilt. Your mom is going to be thrilled.

zyxquilts 08-11-2008 08:56 AM

Oooohh! That is the perfect colors for my house!!! Keep me in mind, in case Mom ever wants to "trade it in"!

Thanks everyone. I'm very excited about this quilt. I have to say, doing it with Eleanor Burns Log Cabin book made it very easy. I'm sure I'll be making more of them.

Barb M 08-11-2008 10:06 AM

Oh it is gorgeous!!! :)

 Great job!! Love Buddy, your little quilt tester.

We didn't know it when we named Buddy that he would turn out to be 'everybody's little buddy'. He hasn't been very happy lately. He can't sit on my lap when I sew like he can when I'm on the computer. Maybe I'll sneek in making him a blankie. :-)

Shelly

What a lovely gift for your Mum, she's sure to fall in love with it. I'm currently working on a quilt for my MIL for Christmas. I haven't tried the log cabin block yet!
Buddy is so cute & intelligent to point out your upside down block. It adds orginality to the quilt. Well done :D

Great job. Love your fabrics. I bet Buddy would love a quilt to lay on while you do your quilts. It would be a great "reward" for finding the mixed up block! :-) :-) :-)

Finally done! I put moms initials on the back. I'm pretty happy with it. Now working on one for my dad for x-mas too. My sister wants one just like this one. It would match her living room colors great.....well see.
