This table runner is the first quilty thing that I have actually finished and finally had the courage to drop the feed dogs and quilt it myself.

The blocks are some things that I'm experimenting with for future projects.

Great work!! You did a good job on the FMQ for the first time!! That's something that I'm trying to get the nerve up to try!

earthwalker 04-17-2010 08:46 PM

Well done, your quilting really flows nicely and the stitching looks perfect. You really have an eye for colour, thanks for sharing your work.

Lainee 04-18-2010 04:43 AM

Thank you all for your kind comments...I did lots of little sandwichs for practice and a dog bed cover out of an old sheet (UFO).

The flow of the stitch pattern was helped along by a stencil, pounce pad and an air erase marker. I need more muscle memory build up or something....to be able to do it on the fly without coverage being uneven or just getting lost.

nwm50 04-22-2010 06:27 AM

will somebody please tell me what 'dp9' means? I am new at quilting..so far have done a shoo fly block and rail fence block.

Lainee 04-22-2010 10:30 AM

it means disappearing 9 patch...sew nine patch together and then cut vertically and horizontally thru the center squares...lots of arrangement options

nwm50 04-22-2010 03:06 PM

Oh,,,thanks so much for explaining. Learn something new everyday !
