Pieced these tops in our RV, not sure if I will do more or not.

Very nice, great jobs !

Anniedeb 01-28-2020 08:12 AM

Both are nice, but I love the visual effect the 2nd one gives off! Great fabric choices.

ppquilter 01-28-2020 08:28 AM

Beautiful! Do you make your own quilt kits to take along in the RV to work on? Thought about taking a machine in our camper, but just thought about doing small projects, maybe paperpiecing.

QuiltnNan 01-28-2020 08:47 AM

beautifully done

juliasb 01-28-2020 09:05 AM

Both of these tops are very pretty. I love your color choices in both. Great patterns for the world traveler.

stillvnu 01-28-2020 10:33 AM

Great job! I to sew when camping. I get so much more done than at home … less distractions.

nativetexan 01-28-2020 10:37 AM

ha, i would need one of those RV's that have the crank out sides. I'd say "keep on cranking please".

appleblossom 01-28-2020 11:10 AM

I love everything! great job! especially the colors! thanks for sharing!

MicheleC 01-28-2020 11:28 AM

Your work is beautiful!

SewingSenior 01-28-2020 01:06 PM

The second one is beautiful but the first is is absolutely stunning. I love the colors and the pattern. You did a great job in such limited space. Before our RV burnt I would take some hand work with me but never even thought of trying piece work in there. Now that we are in our 2nd young adulthood and back to tent camping I rather doubt I will take any sewing with me.

tjk829 01-28-2020 03:07 PM

Since we are full-time RVer's, I don't make kits. I have a folding table that I use for cutting but it is not ideal. The parks where we stay don't have facilities that work well either. That is why I don't know if I will make any more full-size quilts. Smaller projects will be much easier to handle in my limited space. I will keep thinking about it though and may find a better solution.

Tish05 01-28-2020 07:09 PM

I love both of the tops you made, particularly like the colours. The braid is my favorite. Beautiful job.

Two beautiful quilts!

audsgirl 01-28-2020 09:18 PM

Gorgeous quilts! I love the colors. They seem like large projects to be done in a limited space. Well done.

Both are wonderful...lovely fabrics and colors. Looks like you manage well in a small space.

luvstoquilt 01-29-2020 04:33 AM

Both are beautiful and I love the colors.

toogie 01-29-2020 10:38 AM

I love everything about both of them. The colors are soothing to me and I’ve never seen an Irish chain I didn’t like. You did wonderful choosing your colors/fabrics. Are they for you?

sewbizgirl 01-29-2020 02:44 PM

Those are lovely! Thanks for letting us see them.

tuckyquilter 01-29-2020 04:17 PM

They are pretty

osewme 01-29-2020 04:21 PM

Love the colors in the braid quilt & Irish Chain's are one of my favorites. Why would you not make more in the RV? Have you seen this quilter's blog? She quilts on her boat & showed pictures of her sewing area not long ago & has very limited sewing space. http://myquiltodyssey.blogspot.com/. I'm thinking space is the issue for you in the RV but you sure put out some beauties! TFS

It is not only the space that is an issue. The surface for cutting is just a bit too low, the sewing table is just a little too high, I ended up layering the quilt on the floor since there was nowhere else to do it. It just isn't comfortable for long periods of time.

Your tops are lovely. When I was sewing in my RV, I did lap size quilt tops that were mostly single blocks. Not as exciting, but easy to lay out on the bed and then sew together. My friend has her Babylock Destiny in her RV...it's a large one...and she embroideries and loves to sew Judy Neimeyer patterns. She has made some beautiful quilts. She is not full time, so if a project gets to be too much for her space, she just puts it back in her project box and finishes it at home.

I can't even imagine sewing in my 5th wheel. It's not small by any means, but there's so much you need to have with you, Glad you found a way to make it work!

Beautiful quilts by the way!

javin22 02-01-2020 03:09 AM

Both are beautiful!! Love your colors.

Sisquilter1 02-01-2020 05:28 AM

Love the colors. I make a couple of quilt tops each year in our RV. It is challenging sometimes to get everything out of sight. We have a toy hauler and that becomes my sewing room!

GEMRM 02-01-2020 06:11 AM

They're both beautiful, and I love the colours you chose. If I was you I'd keep on!

Barb2018 02-01-2020 07:32 AM

Both are really beautiful! Love the colors.
