Yea! This was so much fun. The surprise element is what I loved about this! The first one was not so great (the one in the back) but when I did half at a time and then joined they they came out great! You all have to try this method!

Is that the stack and whack method? Nicely done. Yep - practice can make a big difference.

OMG - those are just beautiful!!

Yes it is the stack and whack method. So easy and so much fun once I figured out the 60 degree triangle. Math is not my thing!
Can you believe these are from the same piece of fabric? Cool hu?!

Beautiful designs. And you're right, the "surprise" of how the pieces go together make this really fun. I really like the colors you've chosen for yours.

I love the surprise too! I try to make myself wait to look at them till they are all done. And don't write one block too early in the game, it may be just the one that makes everything work!

Yours are lovely. I just got the fabric I chose to try with today. It will have to wait a while, because I am signed up to do the IRR, but it was too good to pass on, as it was only $4 a yard. Brilliant. Are you going to do a whole quilt with these?

Up North 07-17-2009 02:31 PM

not sure what I am going to do yet, I know I will be way short of fabric for a large quilt unless I think of a way to blend something else in. It does take quite a bit of fabric. and I don't remember how big this piece was maybe only 2 yards.
