I think you could brighten it up by using more of the sections with golds and yellows and more of the light blue water area. Just a thought. But what do I know? I've never done a OBW. ;)

Looking great so far, watch out, they are addictive, I'm on the lookout for more fabric for another one, my 4th LOL
|
Thank you for showing the original fabric. It is so fun to see that. It is really dramatic and beautiful. Maybe you could do a few of the cubes to get more light in there. But I think once you lay it out you will be pleased with it

I agree with the other comments. Don't make the final decision until you have finished all of the OBW blocks and moved them endlessly around to get the color flow that pleases you. The border or borders you choose will help pull the colors from the blocks.

Tartan is right on the gold color between. They are really pretty. If it's like painting, you need light, medium and dark in things. JMHO

This is going to be FABULOUS! I can already picture it bordered out! I have 3 fabrics purchased for my next 3 OBW's. Love Love Love that whole process! Congrats and post the finished quilt, won't you?

Here are the pieces done. This was taken in the hall and I couldn't get the whole thing in, but you can see what I mean about it being so dark. What color border would brighten up the quilt?
|
Keep on going with the dark ..it changes so much with the placement, borders and binding. I did one I love it.
|
Any hints on placement?

It's gorgeous colors. I can't wait to see what you decide to do with it. Good Luck and keep us posted.
