Good way to break up the repetition of making 3 almost the same quilts. Your work is very nice!

I agree. Taking a break from a major draining project can get you back on track.

I committed to making 3 memory quilts for the family of a good friend who passed last fall. I had t-shirts and sweatshirts to work with. I have made one quilt such as that quite a few times, however, never doing 3 in a row for the same family.
I was surprised to find this project became a real drain on my physical and emotional resources and it was just not moving forward in a timely manner. I kept thinking about this and finally realized that for whatever reason I was just not enjoying this process. I decided to add in some fun projects to help break things up and cheer me on. I did this by doing bright cheerful fabrics for my leaders and enders. I started with doing a table runner for a good friend who is going thru some difficult times. After finishing the first memory quilt and piecing most of the top of the second one, my reward was to back, quilt and bind the table runner. My next project is going to be a purple quilt in the same pattern, but very different style; only using 4 fabrics. Here is the table runner and the 1st memory quilt! |
You have the right idea. Your projects are super. Sure that this will make things go better. Hugs to you for thinking of others. BrendaK

Very nicely done. The bright colors in the table runner are a great "pick me up"!

I love the table runner. I am currently working with some of those same fabrics in my own quilt. It is posted under "virtual quilting weekend. 05/23-05/25".
