Flannel comforter done!
2 Attachment(s)
Finished another big project. This flannel comforter is made mostly from Maywood flannels. The center panel was just too pretty to cut into pieces, so I used coordinating fabric for the squares. I had bought one piece of fabric two years ago in Renfro Valley, just because I loved it. Looks like brocade but is flannel. Thought it worked well with the Maywood stuff. This one stays with me. Everything else I finished this winter will be leaving, this is for our camper.

I can see why you are keeping it, it's beautiful !
Just the ticket to snuggle under while camping. |
It should keep you warm at night in your camper. Enjoy!

Looks so cozy and comfy!! It wouldn't go anywhere without me either. Love that it's tied.
|
i like your color choices -- hope your ties are tough as nails; i see you tied them in more than one place in the block --
which is a + i have a couple quilts i tied [and weren't used that much] and that was their downfall! |
Looks snuggly! Nicely done!
|
Who wouldn't want to snuggle under this kool thing. You did a super job. BrendaK

I really like your quilt. I love the ties, and they remind me of those I slept under at my grandmothers house.

My ties are tough as nails..I have another I made years ago, plus made one for each of my kids. They are all still in use and holding up well. Some people like to use crochet thread, but I use worsted yarn...here's a funny..as taught by two nice ladies in a historical museum on Ocracoke, Outer Banks, NC. They advised going trough twice with needle and yarn, then tying a double knot.

Vey nice snugly quilt!
|
Thank you for sharing this information. My mother-in-law made quilts for my kids years ago and they are still functioning. Consequently they seem to think if it is not tied it is not a quilt. lol I use the crochet thread but will try the yarn on my next quilt.

That is a gorgeous piece in the middle - no wonder you didn't want to cut it. Sometimes I think I'm more of a fabric collector/lover than I am a quilter.
|
That looks cozy and warm.
|
Oooh, that looks so cozy! Nice job.
