This is a flannel quilt I put together for my DS. He is not quite 2 yet but I think he will appreciate it eventually. It was my first quilt, first time working with flannel and first time tying a quilt. It's very snuggly!

Looks great..I'm sure he'll love it. In fact, you'll probably have trouble getting it away from him to wash it occasionally. :D

Nice!
He'll love to snuggle in it.
It's so soft!

I'm leaning towards flannel for the backing on all the grandkids quilts-I did one and I'm hooked. I even enjoyed handstitching the binding while snuggling with the quilt. I just wish there were a better selection of reasonably priced flannel. I can't imagine how cuddly making a total flannel quilt would be. My next boy quilt has squares of cotton and flannel, but I am having a hard time finding plaid flannel for the back.

Not sure where you are at Susie, but here we have an outlet store called Mill End Textiles. They have a huge selection of cottons and flannels, not to mention every other type of fabric, they're cheap and they give you coupons besides. I think the most expensive quilting fabric they carry is like 6/yd! Add a 60% off coupon to that and it makes quilting really affordable! Maybe you can google and see if there is something similar in your area?

Thanks MN, I'm in W Massachusetts and will google a little more. Hopefully I will find the flannel that I am looking for-it is always frustrating to find what you want at an affordable price and shipping rates are hefty.

Has anyone ordered from jandofabrics.com, New Jersey company?

It might be a while before your son "appreciates" the effort it took to make him this quilt, but I bet he loves it on sight! Good job!
