Here are a couple of flannels I finished.

Great job. Did you piece them on a foundation of some kind? I find that flannels stretch. The only all flannel quilt I have made is one of those rag ones. I do use flannel on the back of baby or Linus quilts.

oh cool.... i love them.
I am thinking of making a flannel quilt - any suggestions you can offer?
BTW - your quilts are beautiful. |
sure pretty....look nice and warm too!.....:-)
Wow!!! I love them both!!! Love the colors you used! I bet their soooo soft & cuddly!! :D
Great quilts. They look so warm and cozy!
Thank you. They are warm and nice to snuggle in. My favorites here in the North.
I've never had a problem with flannel, no foundations. Just piecing like you would cotton. Just be sure to prewash. I like the weight so I still use batting even if the backing is flannel. |
Pretty quilts. Nice and warm and soft. I have made a few flannel quilts, have lots of pretty flannels to make more...
Lovely quilts!!

Purple and Teal....Scrappy.....Love Them Both!!!! :D :D :D
Very pretty flannels!
I love flannel quilts... they're so cuddly and warm.
I've never had a problem working with flannel, just be a little careful with the iron not to "push" the fabric, and finger press where you can. I've never done a quilt with small pieces in flannel though, always fairly solid chunky designs. |
Great job, those are so pretty.
I want to try one of those. Add that to the list . . . |
Very pretty! I haven't tried flannel yet.
I haven't tried flannel yet either. I also want to make one sometime. I also love your backings, good job!!!!
Thank you everyone! Flannels are easy to work with, just careful not to stretch!
The camera has the colors a little off. The 2nd quilt is plum & green. Same colors are in the leafs fabric. I wish camera's wouldn't change the colors!! |
Love your flannels. When I first opened the thread up...I thought...oohhh...warm and looked at where you live..no wonder!! I love both of them though. I haven't tried working with flannel yet.

justquilting ~ I have been wracking my brain for a fairly quick pattern to make a flannel quilt for my aunt. When I saw your crazy quilt I thought, "hey! I have that stackTheDeck book!" so thanks for the inspiration - I'll be starting it tonight. :-)
Beautiful colours, love both quilts.
Great quilts!! Those are going to be so warm and cozy. I'm just doing a little rag quilt in flannel and I am loving the soft fabric.
Beautiful. My Grandmother always put flannel on the back of her quilts. I picked up that tradition. Mine always have flannel and I've never had any problems with them either.
Beautiful!
Love your quilts. Flannel is so soft and snuggly. Both are beautiful.
