Made these blocks to use up floral charm packs last winter, with no real plan in mind.
I think it's a bit bland, but suits that room which is cottagey with low ceiling and beams. The white border has self colour butterflies on. |
Perfect no problems with this one.

I LOVE cottagey! it's just adorable, I have some charms and that's a good idea.

It looks refreshing! Just love it!

Katrine, That is another beautiful quilt you have made.
Do you have a shop nearby for all your fabrics. Do you have a Group to stitch along with. Elle |
A perfect use for your charm squares! I like this quilt a lot!
No, Elle, unfortunately no shop nearby. There is a small quilt shop just over an hour from here, but the fabrics are approx 22 Euros/metre (swallow). There is a shop of a large fabric chain which has a patchwork counter - only about 150 or so bolts - ok for plains or odd purchase. So mostly buy on internet from UK. Wadding is brought over by visiting friends.
No group nearby either so I am self taught from books & PC. Spoke to a group exhibiting once & was haughtily told "all our work is done by hand" & sniffed at - quilt police extraordinaire! So I enjoy this board so much & talking to like minded souls. |
I agree, it is perfect for that room. Very pretty!
Another cute one! What a great way to showcase those charm squares we all fall in love with! Make more!
Another beautiful job!!
Another beautiful quilt. Your work is so nice.
I love this! Did you use a pattern for the template that is available online? I'd love to try it.
I love it!! It is a very simple (not bland at all) pattern but that is what gives it its charm!!!
I love your quilt. What a great way to use charm packs!! Because you used so much white in it, it really softens the bright colors of the flowers. I think it is a very soothing, cuddly quilt-one I would love to sleep under. :)
Ohhh that's lovely!!! So clean and crisp and Springlike! You did a beautiful job!
Kinkajou - no pattern just drew petal shapes with a compass. The white blocks are 6 ins. What made it easier to assemble was I put a 2in x 6in strip of the dots fabric on the top of each block, then a 2in x 8in down the LH side, so in effect 8in block.
Rows were joined across. So only then had to do the crossways sashing and it helped with the squaring up immensely. Just then had to add extra sash to RH side and bottom before 1st white border went on. Once quilted I will bind in white as border fabric. |
Very pretty. I like the soft colors.

Great job! Matches the room perfectly.
Very nice! Isn't it fun creating your own pattern? Every once in a while a person needs to do that.
I love this kind of quilt, and yours is just perfect :D
I don't see anything "bland" about it!! It's lovely!
