Floral NY Beauty

I took the class on Craftsy for Strip piece paper piecing by Judy Martin. This is the NY Beauty pattern from the class. It's still a flimsy at this point, but I'll have it quilted before too long, just haven't decided what design I'm going to do yet!

The pink and purple call out to my grandaughter!

They are both beautiful! I like the one in the background a lot too.

Your flimsy turned out great!

Cindy, that's beautiful as are the blocks behind it. NYB is next on my "to do" list. Question: how do you quilt them? Is there a way to do it without breaking needles on all the layers of fabric in the narrow points? Please post a pic after it's quilted--I can't wait to see it.

It came out great. I've never seen one with calico prints before.

That's beautiful! I have her book on Mariners Compass. I'm going to try that once - perhaps this summer. I have a big, big quilt to finish before that!

In 1992 I took a class for NY Beauties and made one only. I signed up for the same Craftsy class you did and watched part of it, but wasn't ready to make the NY Beauties yet.
I LOVE your quilt! If I can do that after watching her class, I am going to watch her class right away. I've always had a fondness for them since 1992 when I made that first one. Thanks for sharing! It's a very beautiful quilt!!! Thanks for the kick in the pants, also! |
