"out in the boonies....the river down the mountain..." Sounds wonderful. I bet it can be nasty in the winter. I don't like driving on our flat straight roads in the winter. I would probably "hole up" until spring.

The river - is that the one that goes through Charleston? It was a pretty river.

I wish it looked like that in my yard.

Oh, it's so good to see some greenery!
Thank you!

Love the trees and flowers. We garden a bit, too. Have set out over 85 plants, trees and shrubs so far in five years.

All of the crabapple trees are blooming. I've lost count of how many we have. And we keep planting them. There are gobs of babies coming up. My husband potted over 50 more. They grow like around a foot a year.
I have 11 lilac bushes blooming now. It smells so good in the yard.
I love my flowers.

I love a beautiful yard. I love your cat corner!! I have planted crapapple tree as apples really grow great up here, but the deer won't leave them alone. Nothing better than crapapple jelly. I planted lilac also, but they have stayed sticks never growing; much less blooming. I think this mountian soil is too acid for them. Feel blessed for your successes.

The POND!!!!...Do you stock it?????
DH and I love to Bass Fish!!

My husband dug a new pond out in the woods where a spring runs. I want to put some bass in it. The big pond we have has big catfish in it. I've had my line broke several times. Plus it has all kinds of goldfish and some koi. Then another pond has only goldfish in it.

We love to fish and hunt too!

It's the Bluestone River below me. It runs in behind the Bluestone Dam at Hinton. That's where the Bluestone and Greenbrier come in to make the New River.

It is beautiful in the spring and summer. Well pretty in the fall also with all the fall colors. But I don't like wintertime with all the snow if I have to go out in it. I won't drive in it. I've never driven in the snow.

I'll be showing lots more pictures. I have lots of plans. I have nine or ten clematis so far. All different colors.

I'm on facebook as BettyCantleyErskine. I have tons of pictures there from last year of all my stuff.

Spring is great, I just love all the new life it brings.
I'm just north of you in PA, looks like my "hens and chicks"
didn't make it through the winter. I'm sad because I had a ton of them with great plans to make things with them.

I've collected, swapped, and found flowers for years. I work construction and when they go to tear down houses for bridges and things, buddy I'm right there to get the flowers. :-)
