I absolutely adore lilacs. Couldn't grow them in FL or in GA. I am in VA now and am going to try and find a bush to plant. My MIL had a whole row of bushes as a hedge between her and the neighbor and I was always out there with my nose in the bushes. lol

My New Dawn climbing rose is just full of small pink blooms, elephant ears are peeking out of the ground, Knock-Out Roses are covered with blooms. I planted zinnias, angelonia, purple coneflowers and have 100 caladium bulbs to plant. I put a lot of them in pots on my front porch because it is shady. Love this time of year.

Yes, to keep them from horning the small tree trunks. And to keep my horse, Sassy, from rubbing on them. It also keeps the rabbits out. They will chew the bark off of young saplings. I figure some of the cages will come off this year of the biggest ones.

Can't wait to see your pictures! My son planted some elephant ears, in TN. He said they haven't come up yet.
