Yes, our county housing authority is wonderfully proactive about abolishing the reasons for homelessness. The family is in a small apartment, the mom is in a retraining program, the girls are all in school, and they get food, counseling, vaccinations, and all the necessities.

The counselors ask each one in the family about their favorite things and favorite colors, and then our group makes each family member her own quilt. It seels so good to do good. And like my gran used to say, "It's better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness."

So much homelessness here is women with small children, due to domestic abuse. It's so good to see these folks get a fresh start.

So pretty and perfect for a little girl. She will love it and know that someone loves her everytime she snuggles in it.
I still think we need a permanent page for charity projects because seeing them always imspires me to make something.
You can't beat the giving hearts of quilters and sewers.
I don't have time to read all post and know I miss seeing other great charity projects.

Thanks for the kind words, QM.

It's a very simple pattern by Bonnie Hunter, just a 16-patch alternated with pinwheels. Check this post for some bigger photographs and a link tothe free pattern online and description.
