Looks to me like you are definitely moving forward, especially on your domestic sewing machine! Congratulations.

If that is 'practice', it is beautiful! I love the design in combination with the flow of the colors -- it looks inspired....

You FMQ looks great, and it was done on a domestic machine which is really great. I have tried the feathers and pebbles without much success. Guess I will have to keep practicing.

Like QuiltAwayQueen said, if that is practice, it is fantastic. I like the material too.

Great job! It's harder to do than you think it should be, isn't it?

Fantastic!!

Great practice! I like the pebbles inside the feathers. Your work looks great to me. I'm no pro, I've been teaching myself and having a ball. I simply cannot free motion without gloves. Mine have fingers. My sister gave me a pair with no fingers and I can't make it work the same. I've tried the bats and drawer gripper too. Maybe it's because I started with fingered gloves and simply can't move to something else.

Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Yes it has req'd patience and persistence. Since I'm a procrastinator when I decided to approach this I cut practice pieces from my most unpopular fabric stash and sandwiched them with batting and inexpensive muslin. Took me a good 4 hours to cut and prep plenty of practice pieces. Keep one of my sewing machines with the free motion foot ready. Also have 2 or 3 doodle pads and pencil at hand.

And now with advice from this forum I'll equip myself with additional tools. I'm so pleased to have joined this board. There is so much talent exhibit an know how shared.
