So, I finally got my machine set right I practiced until it went good. On the right side you can see normal, my thread broke so I had to start again and this is what happened (left side). Is it me or my machine?

Are your dog feet down? Or could it be your tension.

It may have something to do with the bobbin tension and the speed you are moving the quilt as you FM...

It's either your top tension or try re threading the top and make sure it is seated in the disks. That has happened to me alot of times. My problem was it wasn't seated in the top tension disk.

Going a little too fast for the machine setting. Slow down the motion of your movements and you should be good or speed up your machine. :thumbup:

Domestic machine. I have to make the top tension super tight to get it to look okay. I will try re threading. I will also try to be a little more conscious of my speed, I thought everything was the same as before my thread broke and apparently something went wrong, LOL. Thanks ladies.

Looks like your top tension is too loose because the bobbin thread is eyelashing it like that on your curves. Additionally, moving to fast going through the curves can cause that. Unthread your machine and run a knotted thread through the top tension disks to get out any little tiny pieces that may be stuck from your thread break. I read here yesterday a dollar bill will also work (I've always used a length of thread with several knots in it, think of it as dental floss for your tension disks :lol: ) Rethread the machine and do a little test sewing strip of normal sewing. If all looks well give it another shot.

If all looks well but you get more thread breakage you may need to loosen up your bobbin tension just a tad so you can safely loosen your top tension without getting the eyelashing.

I am having the same problem, I figure its the above solutions but I decided to quit for the day and try again tomorrow. I haven't the patients for it today.

OK this answers a lot for me. The super tight top tension will give you headaches with breakage. Take out your bobbin race and try loosening your bobbin tension just a wee bit at a time so you don't have to keep your top tension so tight. That will cause breakage. Your current problem is definitely something caught up in the top tension discs right now but you will continue to have breakage if you have to keep your top tension torqued super tight to get all to look right.
