foot I found

1 Attachment(s)
I have had quite a number of different brands of machines. I was looking for something else and found this in the back of a drawer. I thought it was a walking foot and wanted to find out which of my machines it goes to. So I Googled the part number on the bottom and was surprised to find that it is a Side Cutter/Overcast foot. It fits all of my low shank machines. Yea. So I took my permanent marker and wrote all of the pertinent information on the foot directly. I wanted to share this hint with you.

That's what I was going to guess as soon as I saw the photo (before reading anything). Bernina makes a similar one for my machine & I am hoping to get one for Christmas. Not the same as a stand-alone serger, but pretty nice nonetheless. Congrats on your new find!

good idea. I have my walking feet labeled as to which machine it fits.

Great find. I can just imagine all the things you're gonna make with it.

When I go to estate sales I find feet all the time in odd places at estate sales. I'm usually too late for the machine unless no one just really wants it or they won't negotiate the price. I have a box of buttonholers that belong to a Singer. I pick up the different attachments and see if they fit the machine, if so then I just attach it with tape because it's the right thing to do.

WOW that is so interesting. I love it when a plan comes together.

I mark my machine accessories like that too. And since I have machines whose bobbins look identical, but aren't interchangeable, I put a 'code' on each bobbin with permanent marker: S for Singer, just a dot for New Home.

Well that was a good score...it's amazing what comes out of the back of drawers sometimes isn't it? That'll be fun to play with! I have 5 vintage singers and ages ago when tidying things away from prying grandchildrens little fingers, in my haste I put all the attachments and boxes in a drawer I could lock....must get them out one day and try to match them again with the machines!!!!
