Found this pillow sham at her house now to find the quilt. Isn't it beautiful and it appears to have been done all by hand! What a treasure!

Very pretty and looks all hand sewn. Lucky you to get this treasure.
It's absolutely beautiful. You have found a treasure.
I don't mean to be negative, but I can't help but wonder how do you know there is a quilt? Besides, the responses all seem so sure there is one. Where does that assurance come from? (Am I missing some info that everyone else knows?) |
What a treasure --- good luck in finding the quilt! It's soooo pretty!
Oh so pretty....hope you find the quilt!! :)
Oh so pretty
I have a quilt the sham would look nice with. If you don't find the quilt, you can send me the sham (if you can part with it)
I hope that I am wrong, but, see if you can find a label on it. About ten years ago, I bought two shams just like that at
Big Lots. They looked very authentic and all hand done. They had been made in China. Apparently by some cheap labor. They certainly fooled me. The price was so cheap, I don't know where my usually curious mind was at the time. They also had bed size quilts. I just dug out one of my shams and the similarity is very striking. Fabric, quilting etc. |
What a wonderful find! I hope you will be able to find the quilt and that you will share it with us. But even if you don't find the quilt, you have your treasure!
Hope you find the quilt. What a find!!!
Oh how beautiful. What a treasure!!
Congrats on your find. You will cherish it.
What a precious treasure. Hope you find the quilt.
What a lucky find! Sure to become a family heirloom.
That looks like the quilt I bought a few years ago at Wal-Mart. Same colors and looks like same fabric. I use it on my bed. I never get to keep the quilts I do LOL If I remember it had shams that you could buy extra. It is hand quilted too.I noticed the 'new' ones now just use material that is like cheater cloth instead of piecing
Oh dear - i do hope you find out that your aunt made the sham! But even if not, she had an appreciation for the art of quilting - always a good thing!
what a nice find!!!!
Just lovely! Love the hand quilting.
Thank you guys for the great comments. I'll take it to a friend who is an expert but it has been here a long time because I found it with some of the quilts she had made with her Mom. I could be wrong. There is no tag on it nor a place anywhere I can find where one's been cut out. On the other hand if she didn't make it maybe I could find a match to it one day. It was special to her and now it's special to me that's all that matters to me now.

(Am I missing some info that everyone else knows?) I don't have any idea just very wishful thinking on my part. I've found a lot of quilts made by she and her mom. My aunt was 96 when she died in 2008. She loved blue and I can just see her fingering and patting this. So no I have no idea if there is one but I've only gotten through about a half of her stuff and am just seriously hoping. |
