Found UFO

2 Attachment(s)
When I downsized over 14 years ago stored this quilt top and just now found it.
When I pieced this top I used the revere of some of the fabrics....not a wise idea so I need to fix that and decide on a border.

Don't recall the name of this quilt pattern.

It's lovely! Since they are batiks, I wouldn't change a thing.

You're right tessagin it does look like beveled glass and the batiks just brings it out even more. Love the pattern, seems like alot of x'd cut squares which were stripped sewn. Beautiful, can't wait to see it's final appearance

It's gorgeous!! I would not change a thing either.
Hey, can you find the package of buttons in the blue box that I lost?

susiequilt 10-05-2014 03:05 PM

You paid for both sides of that fabric. Let it alone, it's lovely as it is.

ube quilting 10-05-2014 03:14 PM

It is lovely. It couldn't be more perfect. 14 years is a long time to be separated.
peace

KarenK 10-05-2014 03:51 PM

I would finish it the way it is. Love the 3-D look!

I don't see anything that needs changing. Beautiful quilt.

quiltsRfun 10-06-2014 05:07 AM

Love it ! What everyone else said.

Rosasta0 10-06-2014 07:05 AM

It does look great and I wouldn't change a thing either. I recognized this immediately - it's called Boullibaise??? I made one a couple of years ago and just a word of warning - mine started falling apart!!! Yes, it has been used as a bedspread and washed a couple of times, but dang, I couldn't believe how it started coming apart. Now it is in the "to be repaired pile". I have a friend who had the same thing happen, so just a word of warning - treat it very gingerly. but it is lovely!!!

May have to use it as a wall quilt considering the warning of how to handle the quilt. A big thank u for the name of the pattern Bouillabaisse Quilt Pattern

I like your attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caswews 10-07-2014 07:39 AM

Very pretty !

MargeD 10-07-2014 09:30 AM

I think it is an absolutely beautiful quilt. Maybe a narrow 2" or so border, then a 4-6" border in black or brown, something to frame that beautiful quilt. I think it's fun when you discover a UFO that you had forgotten about and realize just how much you have improved over the years.

solstice3 10-07-2014 02:21 PM

Very nice!

meanmom 10-07-2014 02:56 PM

I love it. Why would you change it? I use the reverse of fabric all the time. Several years ago for our guilds officers challenge we were given some ugly fabric to use. We had to use the whole piece. The reverse side was really interseting so I used mostly the back side. WOn first place.

OK, I'm not alone I often much prefer the reverse side of fabrics or both. 60 percent of the fabrics on this quilt are not batiks and about 5 to 8% are used on the reverse to capture color balance in my view.

Thank you all or your encouraging comments...sure will save some time to leave it as is.

fred singer 10-07-2014 03:13 PM

really nice top

cathyvv 10-07-2014 04:35 PM

Agree, it is beautiful just the way it is. And it shows how our tastes change over the years, as well.

ladysuds 10-08-2014 03:36 AM

When they are batiks both sides are the right sides..it's beautiful!

Delbra 10-08-2014 05:26 PM
